National Puppet Museum of Huamantla

Museo-Nacional-del-titereIn the city of Huamantla 40 minutes west of the city of Tlaxcala there the only Museum of the country specialized in the art of puppets. The Museum was funded in 1835. The famous puppet company of Aranda Brothers unites to the Rosete family emerging the famous Rosete Aranda Company which had more than 5,000 puppets. At The Museum there are some of oldest pieces like Vale Coyote, character who inspired Mario Moreno for his "Cantinflas" character. There are other characters like doña Pascarroncita Mastuerzo Verdegay Panza de Res y Gay Verde who originally sang "The verses to Don Simon" and afterwards, these verses would be sung by actor Joaquín Pardavé in the movie: "¡Ay que tiempos aquellos señor Don Simón!"
