The Huejote natural fibers are used for basketwork in Teacalco. For wood work we find the tzompantle masks in the town of Tlatempan; the tlaxixtle branches are used to create sticks and canes in Tizatlán; the cedar is used for pieces of furniture in Tlaxco, for the manufacture of puppets in Huamantla and also for the fabrication of psalters in Atlzayanca. There is no limit for the imagination involved in the art of handcrafting piñatas and alebrijes in Popocatla and If what you're looking for are flowers, Xochitecatitla is the place to go. For wooden textiles, tapestries and ponchos go to Contla, Ixcotla and Chiautempan. The needlework from Ixtenco and San Isidro Buensuceso it's something worth seeing. Take special attention to the gold conical wafers from Huamantla, the glazing clay work from Tenexyecac, the burnished metal pieces from Atlahapa or the griddles from Tzompantepec. For Talavera pottery, go to San Pablo del Monte. The short term art is represented in the seed paintings from Ixtenco or in the sawdust and flower tapestries and carpets from Huamantla.
